90-DAY REVIEW FOR LIFE-SAVING ROAD PROJECTS BLOWS OUT

While Prime Minster Anthony Albanese has been distracted by his divisive $450 million referendum, the Labor Government’s 90-day review of infrastructure projects has blown out to 170 days and counting, with no end or answer in sight.

During the latest Parliament sitting in Canberra, Federal Member for Dawson, Andrew Willcox, asked on behalf of the hundreds of thousands of people living and working in rural and regional areas, especially those living in the electorate of Dawson, how the Prime Minister has allowed hundreds of life-saving road projects to have stalled at a time when the road toll is rising alarmingly.

“Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s inability to answer the questions he is asked, his blatant diversionary tactics, and his disregard for the Australian public has continued to shine through,” Mr Willcox said.

“In what seems to be a pattern, the Prime Minister skirted around the question and instead resorted to blame shifting, attacks on character, and showing the Australian public that he doesn’t have the answers we need.

“Instead of answering the question, the Prime Minster remained distracted by the referendum and complained about the Coalition, when what he needs to be doing is taking a hard look at his own government and their inability to execute anything efficiently or effectively.

“The Prime Minister then demonstrated that after 17 months in the job, he still doesn’t know where the federal electorates are.”

“The Prime Minister tried to take credit for delivering the Peak Downs Highway, confidently declaring he’d just named a deliverable in the electorate of Dawson, but if the Prime Minister knew his electorates, he’d know that project is in Capricornia.

“The Prime Minister is refusing to take responsibility for his actions, he is refusing to answer the questions we need answers to, and it makes you wonder what his true agenda really is and what he is hiding.

Mr Willcox said he was “extremely disappointed” in Prime Minister Albanese’s refusal to answer the question.

“Crucial infrastructure projects have stalled under Labor and it’s just not good enough. The Australian people deserve answers, the people in our electorate of Dawson deserves answers.

“Families living in rural and regional areas deserve to be able to travel to and from work and to access crucial services safely.

“This was a question about roads and infrastructure, but it seems all roads lead back to The Voice for the Prime Minister,” said Mr Willcox.
