Everyday families in our community are sick and tired of being tricked by a government that cannot even explain its own laws. Instead of delivering a fair budget, Labor did a dirty deal with the Greens behind closed doors, and it is local retirees, mums and dads, and small business owners who are being forced to pay the price.

A society that refuses to define what a woman is will ultimately find itself unable to protect one. In 2013, the biological definitions of man and woman were deleted from federal statutes: replacing physical facts with subjective feelings. This year, the Full Federal Court's landmark ruling in the Giggle v Tickle appeal confirmed the inevitable consequence under Australian law: gender is now legally fluid, legally changeable, and legally meaningless.

I moved my own Private Member's Bill motion to fight for the future of Australian manufacturing and demand a sensible approach to our national energy grid. Energy is the economy, and right now, manufacturers simply cannot compete with overseas rivals because local electricity and gas prices have skyrocketed.

This federal budget is a big-spending, high-taxing assault on regional Australia. Looking at the benches opposite, it is completely obvious that those in the Albanese Labor Government do not understand the realities of regional communities: most of them have clearly never even set foot on a proper working farm.
